Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller will be limited in spring drills after undergoing minor shoulder surgery, the school announced on Friday.

Miller’s surgery was first reported by Eleven Warriors on Thursday.

The school’s statement in its entirety:

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller had minor, outpatient surgery on his right shoulder this morning at the Ohio State University Medical Center. He will be limited in his activities throughout spring drills, which start Tuesday, March 4 and commence with the LiFE Sports Spring Game, presented by Nationwide, April 12 at 1:30 p.m. in Ohio Stadium.

Miller injured his shoulder during Ohio State’s 40-35 loss to Clemson in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 3.

Miller opted to return to Columbus for his senior season instead of testing the NFL draft waters. He passed for 2,094 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2013 despite missing almost three full games due to a knee injury. He also rushed for an additional 1,068 yards and 12 scores.

Direct quote from TOSU's statement: "He will be limited in his activities throughout spring drills, which start Tuesday, March 4 and commence with the LiFE Sports Spring Game, presented by Nationwide, April 12 at 1:30 p.m. in Ohio Stadium."  Perhaps somebody at the university might inform the PR department that "commence" means "to begin".  I believe "concludes" might have been a more appropriate word.

The Buckeyes had a chance to win if Meyer had put in Kenny Guiton when it was obvious that Miller was injured.

I agree. I understand Braxton, being the competitor he is, wanted to play. It was obvious he was much less effective and made some bad plays that cost the Buckeyes big. It was unnecessary because Guiton is a very good back up.
