It looks like Alabama suffered another tough loss. Quarterback Ricky Town decommitted from the Crimson Tide earlier in the day Saturday, and he is set to join Steve Sarkisian at USC after visiting the Trojans for the second weekend in a row, per Blair Angulo of ESPN.com.

Via Angulo:

It might not be a coincidence that Ricky Town (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure), the No. 2-rated pocket passer in the 2015 class, decommitted from Alabama while visiting USC for a second consecutive weekend.

If it wasn’t clear before, it is now: USC head coach Steve Sarkisian has his top target at quarterback.

This was after Town had tweeted out his decommitment, saying “Today I have de-committed from Alabama. It was an honor to get to know Coach Saban and the Alabama fans. Thank you!”

Just a few hours later, reports started popping up that Town had picked USC. ESPN.com’s Max Olson tweeted that Town’s father had confirmed the commitment to Sarkisian and Southern Cal.

Fight On 247 had a full statement from Town. In it he said:

“I knew after those meetings that USC is where I want to be. The coaches are upbeat, focused and committed to winning and I completely believe in them. I chose USC because of the tradition, the academics and the incredible coaching staff. This is an amazing opportunity to be a part of something really special.”

Town is currently the ninth best player in the Rivals Class of 2015 and the No. 2 quarterback recruit. The St. Bonaventure High School product is a 6-foot-4 pro-style prospect. His highlights show good touch on short routes and the ability to make longer throws as well. This is obviously a huge coup for the new USC coach.

As for Alabama, in the short term FSU transfer Jacob Coker is still in the mix. And perhaps the Tide will have to go back to the lab for their next great quarterback for the next few years.

#11 is going to USC as part of this year's class. #2 TE prospect.

That's because Jacob Coker is transferring from FSU to Alabama. The Tide will be more than OK @ QB. No worries

Bama's new OC is working out thus far..lol...shouldn't matter to much to Bama as they stockpile QB's like none other.

I'm surprised that USC pays more than BAMA BACKERS---

Boo USC.  Bush was to give his Heisman Trophy back but I never read where USC had to give their share of the bowl money back.  Can't stand USC and I hope they somehow go 5-6 or worse next year.

Kiffin has a history of running off good QBs. When he went to TN he cut Bryce Petty and Taj Boyd loose. By his own admission He also passed on a chance for Cam Newton.

An oral promise isn't worth the paper it's written on.

Probably just realized that the school hoes in Socal are hotter than the school hoes in 'Bama

Kid is 17 years old. They change their minds more often than they change their underwear. Wouldn't make too much out of this.

Kiffin has a history of recruiting more than one top QB, but this one didn't work out, besides it never made any sense that this local kid would have a need to become a manager at Alabama.

Obviously ,Alabama would have liked to have kept  this player. But he, as the # 2 rated QB apparently got his feelings hurt that Alabama visited the #1 rated QB while out on the Coast. It appears Coker will have the lead on the job in '14 and 15 ,although QB Sims would disagree and is prepared to fight for the job, with Cornwell as a RS ,continuing to work and get healthier. The idea that Alabama has taken any hits, much less big ones,is laughable, not even they can sign every player. ...They pulled the cream of the crop again this year and virtually any team wishes they had such problems as a 2015 commit de-committing.... And don't fall over in a faint if he ends up back there anyway....Do not worry about the Tide, nor get too excited about their demise, fantasy pieces like this notwithstanding, the cupboard is fully re-stocked....

Imagine if Alabama actually had a great quarterback rather than a game manager. Watch out rest of college football when that happens.

Somebody should recruit # 11 too

@alhmiel1 Not surprising that a kid from Ventura, CA wants to go to USC.  Closer to family and friends and closer to how he was brought up. LA is not for everyone but for a kid from Ventura it is a good fit.

@alhmiel1 Been to LA and I didn't think it was anything great. Charlottsville VA is #1. Eat your heart out soon to be bankrupt CA. LA - overdone, drugs, thugs and trash.

@ScottArrowsmith Exactly. Who is #11. He's huge with great hands. Maybe not the greatest speed but I think he's gonna be big time for someone. Maybe as a TE.

@RobertRwpiche @SInow I'm no Bama fan or Kiffin either but the dude may be a lousy head coach, some guys just are, but he is an awesome coordinator just ask Pete Carroll. Bama will win another championship before USC. I have no confidence that Sark is a great coach I think USC could have done better. The PAC 16 and the SEC are the cream of the football crop and with Oregon, UCLA and Stanford. USC will get better but they will not dominate the conference like they did when Carroll was there it is too strong top to bottom now. Bama will find the perfect QB he does not have to be all world because Saban is always going to be smash mouth run and pass when you can. Would be fun to see USC and Bama in a title game say in 2016???????

Continuity...  The only place Kiffin has spent a few years got progressively worse.  Kiffin, like many, hasn't shown the ability to sit still somewhere and produce new teams that win like the previous years teams.
