Vanderbilt fans were probably disappointed when coach James Franklin decided to leave Nashville and take over at Penn State. After all, the Commodores enjoyed unprecedented success during Franklin’s three-year tenure. Despite Franklin’s exit, it appears the coach did not completely forgot about Vanderbilt fans during the process.
According to a tweet from ESPN’s P.R.’s Keri Potts on Thursday, the coach took out an advertisement in The Tennessean in Nashville as a thank-you for Commodore fans. The ad reads:
Thank you, Vanderbilt. It was a wonderful experience. I am forever grateful. Anchor Down, James Franklin.
Pretty classy exit by the coach.
