Oregon State wide receiver Brandin Cooks, this season’s Biletnikoff Award winner, has declared for the NFL draft, the Beavers announced Thursday.

Cooks set single-season Pac-12 records for receptions with 128 and yards with 1,730. Paired with prolific quarterback Sean Mannion, Cooks finished as the NCAA’s leader in reception yards this season. The junior accounted for 226 receptions, 3,272 yards and 26 total touchdowns during his career with the Beavers.

This wasn’t a particularly surprising move by Cooks, who was perhaps the most prolific receiver in the country despite playing for a 7-6 Oregon State team. Cooks beat out Clemson’s Sammy Watkins and Texas A&M’s Mike Evans to win the Biletnikoff Award for college football’s best wide receiver.

BURKE: Cooks’ size leaves him sixth best WR in 2014 NFL draft class
