Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston has won the 79th Heisman Trophy at the award’s ceremony in New York on Saturday night.

Winston claimed 2,205 points — 82 percent of points possible — on ballots received, including 668 first-place votes. Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron finished second with 704 total points, with Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch coming in third with 558 total points.

Winston’s 1,501 margin of victory ranks seventh all-time, while his 668 first-place votes mark the ninth largest haul in the history of the award. Of the 900 votes tabulated, Winston was left off of 115 ballots entirely.

Your 2013 Heisman Trophy results:
1. Jameis Winston, Florida State: 2,205 points
2. AJ McCarron, Alabama: 704
3. Jordan Lynch, Northern Illinois: 558
4. Andre Williams, Boston College: 470
5. Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M: 421
6. Tre Mason, Auburn: 404
7. Bryce Petty, Baylor: 127
8. Derek Carr, Fresno State: 107
9. Braxton Miller, Ohio State: 91
10. Ka’Deem Carey, Arizona: 70

Winston, a redshirt freshman, is the headliner of an unbeaten Seminoles squad ranked No. 1 in the country and headed to face No. 2 Auburn in the BCS Championship Game. He is only the second freshman to win the award following Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel’s Heisman victory in 2012.

Winston completed 237-of-349 passes for 3,820 yards, 38 touchdowns and 10 interceptions during the 2013 season. His 38 touchdown passes and 3,820 passing yards set national freshman records, and he finished the year as the nation’s leader in passing efficiency (190.06).

To all the people who want to demonize Winston as a person and as the Heisman choice ...

The State Attorneys office in Tallahassee, the TPD, FDLE, FSU officials, and the Governor of the State of Florida ALL say this case did not pass the smell test. The girls testimony had no credibility - zero - none.

Knowing this, you still profess these officials, all their supporting personnel and staff … and now the NCAA and the Heisman Committee are colluding and conspiring secretly together - risking their livelihoods, careers, and reputations and possible jail  - so they can what?

Please do tell what is so important to all these groups and agencies they are willing to risk in unison their professional lives and everything hey have worked for ,,, for what?

I'm waiting ….

That kind of speculation is off the charts of the idiocy scale … wow!

Might want to loosen those tin-foil hats up a bit.

You want conspiracy how about this:
The case sat dormant because the girl did not want to proceed with charges(fact). The cops do this in cases so the alleged victim can pick it up again later if desired. That's why it wasn't closed. If the cops wanted to protect FSU football they would have closed the case and it would have been a done deal. But they left it dormant.

Someone inside TPD warned the girl that if she were to precede it could get ugly. People want to use that against the TPD but what if the cop was genuinely suggesting to her "hey lady, I've seen this before, your case is weak and if you precede it is not getting to be good for anybody?"

That is more likely what took place but the conspiracy theorist want to flip that perspective 180 degrees.

The case lay dormant for months and was only opened again when a reporter from the Tampa area asked specifically about the case number.

The only people who knew the case number were the parties involved including the girls lawyer who is from Tampa.

Where did the Tampa reporter get that information?

TMZ then came knocking a day later as Jameis was being ushered in as the leading candidate for the Heisman. Wonder how much the lawyer was paid for providing the scoop to the media on this salacious story. Your speculation is as good as mine.

So when none of this falls out like many of you accuse or predict can any of your words be undone?

Will your false allegations and slanderous libel be punishable in anyway or do you get off free without justice?

The very thing you're accusing Winston of doing you are setting yourself up to do in a much greater way. That my dear people is hypocrisy at its highest.

... if the truth be known, many of you who would rather see someone else win the Heisman are prone to making these remarks, diminishing and demonizing an 18 yr old kid's actions (Winston), and assassinating his character now when he is 19 by playing lawyer, judge, and jury on these messages boards.

You do so with anonymity behind a keyboard so you can feel a moment of bliss from trashing an opponent because your favorite player or team did not win a trophy. What a bunch of sick, selfish, narcissistic individuals.

Get a life ... really!

The FL governor (with Obama pressure) overruled the State Attorney who said there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute Zimmerman and called for a complete further investigation, so the precedent has been set.

A group of rape victims has started a petition to bring further attention to this.

I just signed the petition "Investigate Tallahassee Police Department's handling of the Jameis Winston Case" on Change.org.

If you'd like to sign it too? Here's the link:

Pass it on, if you'd like.

Do you really think you'd get the same deal as Winston did if you were accused of the same things?

Hard to believe it was rape when she was giving him a bj in front of his friends. Sounds more like buyer's remorse after a night of boozing it up.

Why does one get the feeling that Cam Newton and Jameis Winston are laughing at the public for overlooking their behavior because they are talented football players?

I love how people are so quick to go against Winston and even when there's no case they still think he raped someone, and think the girl is innocent in all of this

@xmarinecpl@Bigdog12The SA 's office came to the same conclusion as the TPD, the case was without merit because the accusers statement made no sense when compared to the physical evidence. Try reading the SA's report that can be found online.

@TGC357@yehonala04@xmarinecplI read the full report several times. The alleged victim admitted to have sex with her on the same day before the alleged assault. Part of the reason for having her case dropped the first time was she refused to tell who the 2nd DNA specimen was from. Along with her alleged memory losses, inconsistencies in her story, and the refusal to full cooperate with officials the case couldn't move on.

TGC357
TGC357

@yehonala04 @xmarinecpl ....

Due Process was ignored. For example, her urine specimen sat (who knows where) for 39 days before testing.

The DNA from her bf was a spot of blood - not semen - that was on her pants - not panties - from a month previous.

What "rules" do you mean?
