Auburn finds cremated human remains on Jordan-Hare Stadium field after Iron Bowl

Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn, Rivalries

Chaos reigned in Jordan-Hare Stadium in the moments following Auburn’s miraculous 34-28 win over Alabama in Saturday’s Iron Bowl. Jubilant fans stormed the field after Tigers cornerback Chris Davis returned a missed Crimson Tide field goal 100 yards to the house for the winning touchdown. And according to Auburn’s grounds crew, someone left something behind.

Auburn’s “Turf Team” tweeted a photo on Monday of what appear to be cremated human remains on the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Some, apparently, are truly willing to give their all for Tiger Nation. War Eagle!

Actually, I'm a little surprised there's not a lot more of this kind of thing happening. Like someone posted below, guy goes to the school, to the games, tailgates, wears the colors, lives and dies by the fortunes of the team for perhaps 50+ years....what better place? To fans of many of the big schools, like SEC and Big Ten schools, this would seem pretty natural.

Someone was incinerated on the field during the post-game celebration?  Spooky.

This is great!  As a Buckeye I wish I could have my remains used to dot the I.

So what are they going to do with the remains? That's really gross. Last thing I want is my remains spread on a fake field which are then vacuumed up and thrown away like common trash...

Ah.... did anyone check on Saban? Maybe it was time for him to pay up on that little deal with that hoofed fellow wearing the cape ...

@Brannon Nelson Oh relax. Someone was probably still taking their Dad to home games for years and in their euphoria decided that there was no more fitting tribute on Saturday night than to leave Dad permanently there. Sorry you're grossed out Hope you didn't throw up in your mouth a little. New to football, tough guy?

@Fifilo After a loss? Perhaps it was Malzahn paying up for his almost magical 1-year turn around and last minute miracle play.

@TTCarrera @Brannon Nelson Big Ten fan here…and I am fine with it.  It meant a lot to someone and their family…may not be the cleanest thong, but its all good!
