Texas Tech going with white ‘Lone Star’ uniforms against Texas next week

Big 12, Kliff Kingsbury, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Uniforms

Despite a four-game losing streak, Texas Tech’s uniform game is still on point. After going with a smokey gray number earlier this season, the Red Raiders are dropping white-on-white uniforms against Texas on Nov. 28. A star adorns each shoulder with “Lone Star” across the backs. The gloves meet to form Texas with the Tech logo, and the shoes are, well, something else. You can find a few other pictures here.

Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury has control of the uniform decisions, according to USA Today’s Paul Myerberg and Steve Berkowitz, and I guess he takes that part of the job pretty seriously.

White uniforms aren't going to help Tech against Texas.  UT plays in white all the time.

Kingsbury may have creative control over unis, but this Lone Star thing isn't his doing. in fact Tech has been doing this for several years prior to Kingsbury. The Lone Star Pride game and special uniforms are an Under Armor thing. And by the way...Tech wore White on White last week against baylor as well. When a media outlet can't even be bothered to pay enough attention to a game to get something as basic as the uniform colors correct, it makes one question the accuracy of any of their other comments or analysis.
