Wisconsin WR Jared Abbrederis leaves with head injury vs. Northwestern
After an early 63-yard touchdown, Wisconsin senior wide receiver Jared Abbrederis suffered a head injury that will keep him out of the rest of the Badgers’ game against Northwestern.
Abbrederis (35 catches, 646 yards, 5 touchdowns) is Wisconsin’s most surehanded receiver, and his big play ability in the Baders’ past few games, including a 207-yard performance in the team’s 31-24 loss to Ohio State, gave sophomore quarterback Joel Stave a safety valve when defenses keyed in on the Wisconsin rushing attack. He has recorded at least 60 yards in every game this season.
The Badgers will likely try to rely on the combo of James White and Melvin Gordon up front to wear down the Wildcats, as the Buckeyes were able to do in the second half behind Carlos Hyde last week in Evanston.
