It’s been an injury-plagued season for Texas quarterback David Ash, and those troubles show no signs of ending. Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman reports that the Longhorns will announce that Ash will miss the team’s game against No. 11 Oklahoma on Oct. 12.

Ash suffered concussion-like symptoms in Texas’ Sept. 7 loss to BYU. He missed the following game, a Sept. 14 loss to Ole Miss, and returned against Kansas State on Sept. 21 only to leave with a separate head injury against the Wildcats. Senior Case McCoy started in place of Ash in the Longhorns’ 31-30 win over Iowa State on Thursday night.

In starts against the Rebels and Cyclones, McCoy completed 61 percent of his passes for 440 yards and two touchdowns.

Bohls reports that Ash’s status for the game against the Sooners comes as a result of residual effects from his injury against BYU.

Absolutely great news for Mack.  Just when you think he has finally run out of excuses, one falls right in his lap. This guy is a genius, folks.  The sympathy card AND his "star" QB won't play against OU.  Macktastic!  Brown is betting that "loyal" Texas fans won't boycott the RRR and buy into his idea that "moral victories" are character building (if UT comes within 35 of OU he thinks he has done a good job).  Last week after his huge upset of 1-2 Iowa State, Mack crowed about how "tough" his kids were.   We'll see exactly what Brown and his players are made of on Saturday in Dallas.  Boy, I wish I get my hands on a ticket. I've heard UT fans are unloading them for 50 cents apiece.     Mack Brown..."Fighting His Guts Out For Another Huge Pay Raise!"

@pallen1635 @SInow not really lol, wouldn't win that game with Ash at QB anyway, he always blows it hard against OU
