Texas can’t seem to catch a break lately. Wide receiver/running back Daje Johnson is set to miss the Longhorns’ home matchup against No. 25 Ole Miss on Saturday with an ankle injury, coach Mack Brown confirmed.

Starting quarterback David Ash is also questionable for the game against the Rebels with head and shoulder issues.

On Saturday, Texas gave up 550 rushing yards in a loss to BYU. Twenty-four hours later, Brown fired defensive coordinator Manny Diaz, replacing him with assistant Greg Robinson.

Johnson injured his ankle of the first half against the Cougars and had only two carries for four yards. In Texas’ opener against New Mexico State, he rushed six times for 62 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes for 67 yards and a score.

The Longhorns are preparing to face an Ole Miss team that jumped into the top 25 this week after starting the season 2-0 with wins over Vanderbilt and Southeast Missouri State.
