LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger wasn’t the SEC’s most prolific quarterback in 2012 — in fact, he left plenty of room to improve entering this fall. Still, Mettenberger thinks he has at least one legendary SEC quarterback beat when it comes to mechanics: Tim Tebow.

Mettenberger told reporters at SEC Media Days that he’s been working with new LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron on his passing game during the offseason. The quarterback struggled at times in 2012, finishing 70th in the country in passing efficiency and 73th in completion percentage last season. LSU opens the season on Aug. 31 against TCU.
