“Guarantee games are just that: Some low-level team gets guaranteed a six-figure paycheck for guaranteeing someone what’s usually an easy win. It’s how the have-nots make budget.” AL.com has a story on the plight of FCS football teams watching power programs trend away from scheduling them. And while we get that these games are nearly always win-win, for reasons outlined above — lordy, do we we not like watching them. What say you, gentle readers?
