Virginia Tech lands really old football recruit

Tuesday, in Blacksburg: “Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas is returning for his senior season. The 6-foot-6 redshirt junior told the Hokies coaching staff on Tuesday, the final day to declare for the draft.”
Tuesday night, on the internet:
Awesome day #HokieNation. We got a commitment from our TOP recruit for 2013 @lthomas_3. Thanks LT. Wish the season started today. #BeatBama

BONUS LOGAN THOMAS CONTENT: Don’t let this story’s now-defined endpoint stop you from reading Martin Rickman’s sci-fi Logan Thomas fan fiction short story, which is exactly what it sounds like: “Logan 3 was making his decision today – to join the ranks of the juggernauts or to flee once more into the uncharted territory that was the Coastal Region.”

Why would Logan declare for the draft? He would go in round 4 or later. Another year at college is exactly what he needs. Who does he think he is? Terrell Pryor?
(note that they are about the same size, and have a similar game. One difference is that Logan is not in trouble at his college. Logan - stay for your senior year, and continue to develop. Next year, you could move up to 2nd or 3rd round, possibly better. Why give up on that?)
Huh?
