Eric LeGrand retires from the pros as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer

It’s no longer really college news, but we have closely followed the post-football career of Eric LeGrand as he rehabs back from paralysis, writes books, and even signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. LeGrand took to Twitter this morning to announce his retirement from the NFL:
I am retiring as a buccaneer player today, I knew I wouldn’t keep the roster spot forever and my team enters camp today and I want them to Go in with a full squad of 90 people so I am not in the way of them reaching a championship. Every man counts. I am still a buccaneer for Life just not as a player. Jerseys are still for sale and I will be a part of the team forever. Can’t wait to be down there on the 17th
A full press release is available on the Bucs’ website. LeGrand will now be placed on Tampa Bay’s “reserve/retired” list. Our continued best wishes to this remarkable young man as he continues his astonishing uphill climb.
